So unfortunately for this guy he got a BB special but arguably could have just folded preflop as Q2s isn't all that strong. I was just hoping he had something just good enough to call the river bet (which I figured was going to be tough now with 4 diamonds on board) and I jumped out of my seat to hit the call button when he shoved.

Was so expecting everyone to call when the first two limpers called my 980 raise like it was nothing. Fortunately the 3 players behind thought better of it and we took a flop 3 handed. Clearly a WA/WB situation on the flop so I wanted to let one of them bet it rather than shoving and likely only getting called by better. Unfortunately this guy puts me in minbet purgatory and I don't get full value but at least he got the other guy to tag along for 2 streets. Had a tough time putting him on a hand and the pocket pair made a lot of sense when he rolled it over. Hard for me to ship river there, but he probably calls it.
Very next hand. Did I make a bad play here as well?

So I did check flop, was going for a check/call but instead the guy just makes a huge overbet and the other guy calls. Can't continue in this spot but I puke when I see the hands, KQo and 4♣2♣. Saved myself from a bad beat though. Also got some chips back a few hands later with the blinds going up to 200/400-50, raising KQo in EP, getting heads up with the BB, and taking it down on a Q high flop with a 2100 bet.
A little while later, another "misplayed" AQ hand.

I felt like he calls here with a lot of hands and the pot sized bet didn't scare me. I deduced my overcards are likely live and that he'd probably check back a lot of turns if I just call this. Against a shorter stack I'd gamble here and get the money in but this is for my tournament life and even if my overcards are live I'm a small favorite at best and don't like my fold equity. He calls with any pocket pair and maybe even talks himself into calling with ace-high. Slight chance he has 88 or a 4 as well. Unfortunate that we didn't hit but still have a decent stack after this.
That stack on my left ended up getting moved to the other table shortly after this. We had 14 left and went to 7 & 7. However, I did not get much in the way of cards. Had one hand with AhJh that I raised up and took blinds and antes and while I'm sitting and folding the other hands preflop I start getting concerned about the bubble. Down to 13 at this point and blinds go up to 500/1k-125 and the blinds come around to me again and I have to fold both my big and small. However, a few hands later something glorious happens at the other table. UTG has ~1300 left and shoves, a player in MP raises and the BB has like 3k on top and he calls that raise to put himself all-in as well. Cards revealed are 54s for UTG, A2 for the MP player that raised, and BB has A4o. Flop comes with a 2 and a flush draw for the UTG player, but the deuces end up holding up and 2 players get knocked out! Down to 11 and a hand later a guy at our table gets it all in, gets called by a big stack holding 99 and the J9J flop does in the short stack and we are down to 10.
Blinds go up to 600/1200-150 and I'm in the CO at what's now a 5 handed table. I have 12368 left and I shove 4♦4♣. Big stack in the SB overshoves for 38k and BB folds. He has A♣T♣. Flop comes J♣9♥8♣. Gross. I'm actually a 2:1 dog to this. Turn J♦ and I improve to a 57/43 favorite but dodging half the deck twice was too tall of a task and the T♥ on the river puts me out in 10th. Probably not a hand I get involved with if only 9 pay (I was ~7th in chips at that point) but with less than 5x the CPR left at a short handed table especially, I think it's the right play.

Thought someone would call there with ace-rag but no action. We'll take the pot down with the BB special; can't do anything there but bet big to protect my hand. Very next hand is another questionable one against the bigger stack on my left:

I felt like he calls here with a lot of hands and the pot sized bet didn't scare me. I deduced my overcards are likely live and that he'd probably check back a lot of turns if I just call this. Against a shorter stack I'd gamble here and get the money in but this is for my tournament life and even if my overcards are live I'm a small favorite at best and don't like my fold equity. He calls with any pocket pair and maybe even talks himself into calling with ace-high. Slight chance he has 88 or a 4 as well. Unfortunate that we didn't hit but still have a decent stack after this.
That stack on my left ended up getting moved to the other table shortly after this. We had 14 left and went to 7 & 7. However, I did not get much in the way of cards. Had one hand with AhJh that I raised up and took blinds and antes and while I'm sitting and folding the other hands preflop I start getting concerned about the bubble. Down to 13 at this point and blinds go up to 500/1k-125 and the blinds come around to me again and I have to fold both my big and small. However, a few hands later something glorious happens at the other table. UTG has ~1300 left and shoves, a player in MP raises and the BB has like 3k on top and he calls that raise to put himself all-in as well. Cards revealed are 54s for UTG, A2 for the MP player that raised, and BB has A4o. Flop comes with a 2 and a flush draw for the UTG player, but the deuces end up holding up and 2 players get knocked out! Down to 11 and a hand later a guy at our table gets it all in, gets called by a big stack holding 99 and the J9J flop does in the short stack and we are down to 10.
Blinds go up to 600/1200-150 and I'm in the CO at what's now a 5 handed table. I have 12368 left and I shove 4♦4♣. Big stack in the SB overshoves for 38k and BB folds. He has A♣T♣. Flop comes J♣9♥8♣. Gross. I'm actually a 2:1 dog to this. Turn J♦ and I improve to a 57/43 favorite but dodging half the deck twice was too tall of a task and the T♥ on the river puts me out in 10th. Probably not a hand I get involved with if only 9 pay (I was ~7th in chips at that point) but with less than 5x the CPR left at a short handed table especially, I think it's the right play.
