Way down we go

Awful session at $.10/$.25 the other night, lost two buy-ins. Playing 6-handed and a little under break-even for several orbits I pick up 9 ♦ 8♠ in the BB. HJ raises, SB calls and I decide to call as well. Flop comes K ♥ 9♣6♠ and it gets checked around. Turn 8 ♥ and the SB checks, I bet $1.65 and the original raiser calls. River J ♦ and I check to him and he bets $7.50 to put me all-in. The J only completed a gutshot so I have a hard time figuring how I don't have the best hand here, so I call. He had J♠J ♥ . Motherfucker. Rebought and two hands later had Q ♦ T♠ on the button and call a $.75 raise from the CO (maybe too loose of a call). BB comes along and we take a flop of Q ♥ 7 ♥ 3♠. I call a 1/2 pot c-bet and the BB folds. Turn A♠ and I have to fold to a 2nd barrel. A few hands later have A♠J ♥ in the HJ and raise to $.75. BB calls and then check/calls my c-bet of $.80 on a K ♥ Q♠2 ♦ flop. I shut down on a K♣ turn and it goes check-check, and we check down the 8♠ river as

An interesting $2/$4 hand

Went on a massive heater and was able to sit down in a $2/$4 game tonight. Just kidding. No games going that I could play so I decided to observe the $2/$4 game that was taking place as this is the highest action game on this site. It was 3 players then it went down to 2. An interesting heads-up hand took place that left me scratching my award winning head. With $256 (and his opponent covering), button raises to $12 and the BB calls. With $24 in the pot, the flop comes down J ♦ 9 ♠5 ♥ and both players check. Turn comes Q ♦ and the BB bets $12. Button calls . River T ♥ and both players check it down. BB shows K ♦ 6 ♦ for a rivered straight and button mucks J ♠J ♥ . How does the money not go in?!?!?  I can definitely understand button's check on the flop. Got top set in a heads-up game and pretty likely that BB completely whiffed. So have to keep him in the hand. But on the turn to only call a 1/2 pot bet on what's now a pretty wet board is bad. The river isn't a great

Sunday Freeament

Pretty card dead the first few orbits playing no hands when I get dealt A ♥ T ♣ on the button in the 2nd level (15/30 blinds). MP player lips for 30, I raise to 90 and SB (who has been pretty active and aggressive) reraises to 150. Folded back to me and I call with position. Flop comes Q ♦ 6 ♣ J ♠ and he checks. I take the free card. Turn 2 ♦ . He makes a feeble bet of 90 and I call. Given the action I am putting him on 99 or TT. I think he was concerned with the Q and J on the flop and checked and is now trying to pick it up cheaply. I call not only for the pot odds but I believe I may have some bluffing equity on the river. However the river is the A ♣ and I elect to just check behind and show it down just in case he was in there with AJ or AK and didn't expect to get called by tens or nines with now 3 overcards on the board. He mucked 44. Go card dead again but pick up Q ♣ J ♥ three off the button at the 25/50 level and raise to 125, get cold called by the CO and the bu

A little $25NL

Played a quick session of six-handed $25NL as that was the lowest game running. Bought in for $10 and decided to post in the CO rather than wait for the BB. First hand get dealt 6 ♥ 5♠ and it's folded to the HJ player that decides to make a feeble raise to $.50. I call and the BB calls. Flop 5 ♦ 2 ♦ 2 ♥ . BB checks and HJ bets $1.75, the size of the pot. I decide to fold against an unknown as I feel like a full pot bet is an overpair or at least overcards with a flush draw (e.g. Q ♦ J ♦ ) most of the time, especially into 2 players. BB calls and the hand ends up getting checked down after a 4 ♥ turn and a 9♣ river. HJ had a mere A♣4 ♦ , but BB had A ♥ 5 ♥ so I'm glad I folded even though my original read was off. Folded for like 2 orbits after that as I got dealt squadoosh, although I did get 1 walk in the BB with 72o. Finally get a hand when I'm OTB, an A♣9♣, but my raise merely picks up the blind money. I was actually contemplating leaving the table as the players wer
