Some Omaha8

Had $.46 on PokerStars and decided to take a shot at the Omaha8 tables. Started with $.02/$.04 limit. Here's how it went. PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Omaha/8 (7 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: HTML) Preflop: Hero is SB with As, Ah, 9s, Js. 1 fold , MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero raises , BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls. Raise it up with aces. Not sure if that's the correct play, as I have a high only hand. Flop: (12 SB) Ks, 7s, 3d (6 players) Hero bets , BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, CO calls, Button calls. Follow through on the flop with the nutterball to go along with my aces. Turn: (8.50 BB) Tc (5 players) Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, CO checks, Button checks. Check here but I'm not sure it's the right play. Still have some equity and probably more than 1 player with a low draw or lower flush draw in here. River: (8.50 BB) Kh (5 players) Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, CO checks

I never actually watched this show, but someone sent me this video and I'm laughing my ass off.

I quit

Haven't updated in awhile, but I am pretty much done with poker for the time being. Lost my $200 investment on Nordica, but it was no surprise. I was playing NL $100 with a very short bankroll, took a couple of bad beats (KK running into AA to cap it off) and made a few bad plays as well. Just don't have the bankroll or desire right now to keep going at $100 NL, even though I can probably beat it. But I'd rather just try to get an actual job and make an actual wage sans variance.

This hand gave me a profit for the day

Here's an interesting hand that I initially thought I played really badly but after looking it over I think I might have played it ok. Preflop I have A T UTG. I raise to $4, Villain calls right behind me, all else fold. This particular villain has been in quite a few pots, and likes to bet a lot when checked to. He's bet in position and folded to two minraises recently. Flop ($9.50) K 7 8 I check, he bets $4, I raise to $16, he makes it $48, I stick it in for $71.15. Good flop for me. Flush draw and an overcard. I decide to check to him based on my read. I get some value out of his nothing hands, and I might be able to fold out the weaker king hands (such as KT or lower if he called with that) or a hand like 99, which would probably call the flop. Alright so I checkraise and he reraises me pretty quickly. I thought his range was pretty wide. Likely a king, perhaps smaller diamonds (8 x also likely), a straight draw, or even a combo draw like T 9 or 6 5 . He could also have

Update

Haven't updated in awhile, but I have been playing. I've been sticking with NL $100 and it really hasn't gone that well. Down about 1/2 a buyin over probably a thousand hands. Could be worse but it could also be a lot better. Some of it is bad luck, coolers, getting outdrawn, not getting paid off on big hands, but I need to improve in some areas. First I need to raise more. I keep limping behind with hands, and I miss the flop more often than not. So I need to use my position and raise the suited connectors and small pairs when I'm on the button with limpers in front of me. Try to take it on the flop or at least build a bigger pot for when I do hit something. Also I need to reraise a bit more. I'm not a big fan of coming over the top but it is better in some situations, especially in the blinds. Had a hand tonight where button raised to $4, SB called, and I reraised to $12 with AJ. Both players folded. Certainly better than throwing $3 more out there and check/foldi

Righting the Ship

Had another bad session yesterday. Actually I didn't play badly at all, I just took two horrible beats. I was taking a shot at NL $50 too. Lost to JJ twice. One hand I had 55 in a raised pot, I called from the BB, and flopped a set (9-6-5 flop I believe). Anyway, get it in with a half stack, he has JJ, river J. Great. Another hand I have KK and resolve to play a big pot with it. I raise to $3, SB calls. Flop comes 9 high, he checks, I bet pot, he calls. Turn is a blank, same action. River is a jack, he shoves for the remaining PSB, I call. He has JJ, sigh. Really wish I didn't keep getting two outed. So tonight I decide to take a shot at $100 NL (6-max of course) after the Red Sox beat the Rockies 2-1 due to great pitching to take a 2-0 lead in the series. I sit in with $100, leaving me a measly $5.12 if I lose it. But I resolved to try and get up $45 and then leave. If I go broke I take a break or redeposit or whatever. Sick and tired of grinding it out at NL $25 just to get t
