When villain bet 1/2 the pot on the flop I figured he had a pocket pair or something else lower than aces and was trying to find out where he was at in the hand. So I shoved and got the bad news that he had acey-deucey. Had a wheel draw though but this hand had the added bonus of getting to go to the river drawing completely dead!

Tonight got home late but jumped into a venom step 1 freeroll that was already in level 8 with a little more than 1/2 of the 1000+ person field gone.

Actually started with 5k which of course with over 50% of the field gone was less than half the average stack. Deck hit me in the face pretty early on though and got a triple up with AA with two people calling my shove and the aces holding up. On this hand though I was like fuck it I'm all-in even before the SB acted. I was ready to go with it as soon as he checked but the problem is he didn't check and I went with it anyway. To be fair though my equity is decent here especially with the overcard, but the button calling too and having an A with a made pair killed my chances of winning with anything but a flush or unlikely runner runner straight.

I Pokerstoved this afterward and I had ~35% equity against these two players so with the money in the pot I actually made the right call. Unless I'm against a set here I really can't get my money in bad in these spots, and sometimes I might even be up against a worse flush draw. So I think these tournaments are teaching me to gamble in these spots and I'm hoping I have the same mindset when I do step into the live cardrooms and play some cash.

Did end up getting a step 2 ticket out of that. Had over 100k at one point but the blinds ate away at my stack and ended up at 38k when we got down to the final 50 and the tourney ended (they're giving an extra 10 tickets now with the unlimited entries). So I get another shot at a step 2 where my goal is to sneak into that last cashing spot where I'd get some money instead of the step 3 ticket.
