If I had played this hand any other way up until the river it's quite possible I don't get my opponent's stack. Yes, it was a cooler for her, but think about it. I raise preflop, she's out of there with K
7. I bet the turn, maybe she decides she doesn't want to draw anymore. I pegged her as a tight, solid player, so my assumptions are probably accurate.

On the river I figured she might've actually slowplayed a set because she bet just $5 into $9.50. In fact it was actually a good bet; I checked behind the turn so she probably figured me for a moderate hand that couldn't pay off a big bet. I minraised because I wanted to get a 3-bet out of her. Maybe she'll think I'm trying to get thin value out of something that is not a flush (Q9 maybe?). Her reraise to only $25 was a little disappointing, but I figured I had to just go all-in now. So I took about 10 seconds and pushed in a "what the hell, I'll go with it" fashion. She called and mucked the 2nd nut flush, no way she was ever getting away from that. So my river play really didn't matter, but sometimes letting them see a flop really works out. I should thank CO, if he didn't limp, I would have raised there.

I'd probably get berated for this hand by internet hotshots, but here's the thing. First, I'm not coming over the top of an UTG player who has a 10% PFR percentage. Plus, I'm out of position. So I'm keeping it small. Flop gives me TPTK and I check-call. Way ahead/way behind situation (likely the former of course). Turn is a blank, I check-call again. Let the guy think I'm on a flush draw. He might bet 99-QQ here (where he'd probably fold it to a flop c/r). River, meh. I'm out of position which sucks, so I check it down. Maybe could've thrown in a little bet there, but I'm not too disappointed in how I played it. Most pros probably play this the same way. I know Hellmuth would take this line or a line very similar to it.

Finally, a fellow blogger is starting a study group for Professional No Limit Hold'em. There's also one on twoplustwo. Still haven't received it, but according to Amazon the book is in stock and under my order it said it was "getting ready to ship", though it didn't change my estimated arrival date of Aug 8 - Aug 15. Then again, the 8th is next Wednesday, if they ship it out Monday I will have it by then. If they ship it tomorrow I'll get it by Monday. Can't wait.
