Severe Pwnage

I've been way too busy to play at all in the last 3 weeks or so but got a chance to jump into one tonight. Some highlights.

Flopped the nut flush and get a gift of an all-in bet (villain had the 3rd nut flush and somehow decided that was the best way to play it on the flop). Thanks.

Implied motherfuckin odds. Villain in this case had the flopped straight with 67xx, no redraws.

This hand's a bit later on. Went a little card dead after the rebuy and with people adding on and me declining to do so I no longer had the chip lead.

Called the turn hoping to hit my straight but when the opportunity presented itself I went ahead and represented the flush on the river. This guy is a reg so I knew he was capable of laying it down and he did not disappoint. Of course I showed the hand. 😛

I don't like that the hand history doesn't show mucked cards, but seat2 flopped a set of 9s. I knew I was in trouble with the 1000 bet into 600, so I pitched my bottom set for a world class laydown.

Made it to the money but one player started to emerge as the chip leader and I was fighting the other player for 2nd.

Was fortunate that I hit the K on the turn but villain ended up paying me off when I got there which helped me cut into his lead.

Flopping the nuts helped me take the chip lead.

From there I started playing more aggressive and stealing the blinds more, especially with the ante in play. Seat4 would drop to 3rd in chips and started folding everything (I guess hoping the other player would go out). But he'd eventually be all-in on his blind but the funny thing was he kept doubling up; five times he was all-in and survived (two of those were 3 handed as well with other villain & me checking it all the way). So I started putting a lot of pressure on the other player since I know he didn't want to go 3rd and built up more of a chip lead. So I didn't mind the short stack winning because I still had a massive lead, and was making money on the side pots anyway. This is what it looked like the final hand of 3-handed play.

So both players were decimated at that point and as you can imagine I knocked out the other player pretty quickly, two hands later in fact. Collected $3.50 for my first place finish in a tournament that took almost 2 hours to play. Unlike in the past I actually registered from the start, hoping for a quick kill with only 3 players initially playing. Had the early KO but the first villain rebought and there were some late entries and add-ons to bring the prize pool to $7.

That win gets my balance to just over $90 on the site. May cash out when I hit $100, although I don't know when that will be. Just a lot of stuff going on and with my work schedule staying as is for now I won't have really many opportunities to play on the site and with other interests I haven't gotten out to play any live games either, but hoping to do so at some point. The new cardroom in my area that was supposed to have a grand opening this weekend isn't going to open until the end of October now.
