One Last Freeroll

Because of the holiday I don't have to get up at the ass crack of dawn so I got to play the freeroll tonight. 377 entrants and I was able to accumulate chips pretty early on by making some good reads and getting value on my strong hands. One key hand I had 88 in the SB and just limped after 1 other limper since I was out of position. BB makes a 7x raise and it's folded back to me, and my read was that was just too big of a raise for that situation and he wanted to end the hand right now. Got a 9-high rainbow flop and I check to him, he bets like 1/2 the pot and I just shove on him. I had him covered but not by much so putting my tournament on the line here too but I'm confident enough in my read. He calls with naked AJo and deservedly bricks the turn and river. LOL.

Got more chips by having AK against an all in player's 77 and flopping two pair and turning the boat to finish him off. Another hand had JJ against AK against another all-in player. This time he flopped the two pair but I found a J on the river to knock him out. Easily got into the money and then played pretty aggressive to stay with an above average chip stack as we got down to 40, then got kind of card dead as the tournament dwindled to the final 3 tables but still had a decent stack.

Got moved to a different table, had QQ 2nd to act and UTG (who has me covered) limps. I raise pot and he tanks and uses up most of his time bank before calling. Flop A93r, he checks, I had less than a pot sized bet left so I stick it in hoping he doesn't have an ace, but he calls and has 33. Motherfucker called me with three fucking three. I raised pot to let him know what I had. Anyway I don't hit a Q and finish 23 out of 377 for $3.25. Another cash in this, I'll take it.

Unfortunately this is probably going to be the last one for awhile. Really busy at work right now and likely staying on a day schedule so can't stay up to play these. Really haven't had time to play the LOLMAHA's either, even on non-work nights. Hoping to get in an EPT sometime in the near future so I can get some live MTT experience so I will try to keep this blog updated a bit more.

Had another bad session yesterday. Actually I didn't play badly at all, I just took two horrible beats. I was taking a shot at NL $50 too. Lost to JJ twice. One hand I had 55 in a raised pot, I called from the BB, and flopped a set (9-6-5 flop I believe). Anyway, get it in with a half stack, he has JJ, river J. Great. Another hand I have KK and resolve to play a big pot with it. I raise to $3, SB calls. Flop comes 9 high, he checks, I bet pot, he calls. Turn is a blank, same action. River is a jack, he shoves for the remaining PSB, I call. He has JJ, sigh. Really wish I didn't keep getting two outed. So tonight I decide to take a shot at $100 NL (6-max of course) after the Red Sox beat the Rockies 2-1 due to great pitching to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Alright so I haven't updated in a while, also haven't been playing either. Recently Full Tilt offered me a $50 bonus without having to make a deposit so I've been playing a little bit. Probably only going to clear $10 of the bonus, really just can't get into playing much anymore with work and other stuff like bowling, which I've really gotten into over the past 4 months occupying my time. Anyway, tonight I sat down at a $100 PLO8 table. Morris Chestnut was at the table and I wa able to jump in and be top on the waiting list because it's PLO8. After about 10 minutes I got in. It was a pretty boring game, not much action, most of the table was playing tight. I thought there would be more action with a red pro being at the table and was hoping to see some hold'em donks occupying some seats at this table. I was up a few dollars when this hand took place. Foxwoods

Took the afternoon off Friday and headed to Foxwoods. Got to the poker room at around 2 and I was looking to play 4/8 Omaha8. However, the list was about 8 people long, and the person at the desk said that there was an interest list going for 1/2 Pot-Limit O8. It was open seating at that point, so I joined in and soon we had a full table of 10 people and the game got going. Early on I made a pretty bad blunder with a strong hand. I had A Q 4 2 on the button and called a $6 raise. One of the blinds also called and the flop came with 2 clubs and 2 low cards, giving me a Q-high flush draw and the nut low draw. I called a $12 bet from the preflop raiser, the other player folded and we were heads up. The turn was the 5 , completing both of my draws. The PFR checked and I checked behind (I know, terrible).
