One Last Freeroll

Because of the holiday I don't have to get up at the ass crack of dawn so I got to play the freeroll tonight. 377 entrants and I was able to accumulate chips pretty early on by making some good reads and getting value on my strong hands. One key hand I had 88 in the SB and just limped after 1 other limper since I was out of position. BB makes a 7x raise and it's folded back to me, and my read was that was just too big of a raise for that situation and he wanted to end the hand right now. Got a 9-high rainbow flop and I check to him, he bets like 1/2 the pot and I just shove on him. I had him covered but not by much so putting my tournament on the line here too but I'm confident enough in my read. He calls with naked AJo and deservedly bricks the turn and river. LOL. Got more chips by having AK against an all in player's 77 and flopping two pair and turning the boat to finish him off. Another hand had JJ against AK against another all-in player. This time he flopped th...

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So almost a month since my last post. Way too busy with work and other stuff to really play. I did get to jump into a quick one last night, probably the most bizarre one of these that I've played on this site. Started out with just 2 people, then got up to 4, then one person got eliminated, another joined, and then there was a 3 way all-in. I'm watching at this point waiting for the end of the rebuy period to jump in, but once there was a 3 way all-in I registered just in case the big stack knocked out the other two players because it closes registration once it gets down to heads up (but not when it starts out with only two players). So one person got eliminated on that hand and he wanted to rebuy but typed in the chat that the site wouldn't let him. So we were down to two players and me. One player had almost all of the chips, the other 3k, and me with 1500k. The other two players got in a couple of all-in confrontations with the shorter stack cracking AAxx the first ha...

Part Deux

Long week, didn't get a chance to update but made it to heads up. Started with a 15k to 10k chip deficit and won a lot of small pots to take the chip lead. Then the following hand came up. Had 9 ♥ 8 ♥ 7 ♦ 5 ♦ in the BB and checked after my opponent completed. At the 300/600-50 level at this point. Flop A ♥ 6 ♦ 4 ♠ and I check/called 600. Turn 3 ♠ to give me the straight and I decide to check/call his 2500 bet. This leaves him with about a pot-sized bet left and I expect the money to go in on the river, which is 7 ♣ . Not the greatest card for me to look at but I check a 3rd time ready to snap call his all-in. He checks behind though and mucks A6xx. Probably a mistake there, not sure he calls a river shove by me but he might feel committed as opposed to getting a free showdown with his marginal hand.  Had about a 3:1 chip lead at that point, went back and forth for a few orbits and he started open-shoving some hands. Had Q ♣ Q ♥ J ♥ 9 ♥ and took a stand, calling his ridiculo...
