Cyclone Poker

So ACR has this format called cyclone poker. It's very similar to Zoom Poker on Stars but it's for satellites. You get 1500 in starting chips, can jump in any time, and if you get to 5k you get the entry to the next step, or your tournament just ends when you go busto (although there is an option to rebuy).

The other wrinkle is that the tables are all 3-handed. Button, SB, BB, that's it. I don't believe the blinds increase, it was 50/100 when I jumped in. Once your action in the hand is over you can hit fold & stay and watch the rest of the hand before getting moved or just hit fold and you get moved to another table immediately. So like with Zoom Poker it's random as to what position you will be on each hand.

Anyway won a few small pots and was up a bit when this hand came up:

Game Hand #442890242 - Tournament #21109558 - Holdem(No Limit) - Level 1 (50.00/100.00)- 2020/07/18 22:45:16 UTC

villain posts the small blind 50.00
hero posts the big blind 100.00
*** HOLE CARDS ***

*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 800.00
Board [6s 5c Js 4h 5s]
Seat 1: villain2(button) folded on the Pre-Flop
Seat 2: villain did not show and won 800.00
Seat 3: hero (big blind) folded on the River

So initially my plan was to either raise or reraise with AQ but the minraise looked suspicious and I thought with position I would just take a flop. Seemed like villain wanted to suck me in although maybe I'm just overthinking. The flop & turn minbets didn't help my suspicion though and I could only call. When he shoved river I had to fold. Maybe it was JJ or perhaps a flush that came in or he's a donk that would play AA or KK this way. Maybe I saved some money with the line taken, not sure.

Trying to get to 5k here so I went with it. I can't see this guy ever being really strong here ever; only had I would really be worried about is Ax. Sure looks like a bet that's trying to end this hand right now and I could be a favorite with an overcard, flush draw, and gutshot. Turns out that was the case even though he was "ahead" with a pair. But I brick the turn and river and that's basically it. Had $100 left and actually managed to win 2 more hands but then lost in a blind v. blind battle when my AT went up against J9. Flop QT9, turn 9, no miracle on river.

So that was my $1.40 ticket, ended up using my $4 ticket as well and that didn't last long either. This was a traditional tournament format that I got in with about 4 levels of late reg left. Started with 1500 with the blinds 200/400-25 at this stage. Four hands in I'm in the BB and down to 1100 and I get J2o. Folded to SB who tanks and then finally puts me all-in and with the situation and pot odds I'm forced to call her. Figure he could have a wide range here, maybe even any 2. He had K9 and I'm like a 65/35 dog but have live cards. However, I get no help from the board and GG me.
