Some more O8

Played a couple of tables on Full Tilt during "happy hour". Here's how it went.

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo - 6 players

CO: $24.50
BTN: $22.75
SB: $47.20
Hero (BB): $23.55
UTG: $26.25
MP: $60.60

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with AA of clubs 33 of clubs AA of spades JJ of clubs
UTG calls $0.50, MP raises to $2.254 folds, UTG calls $1.75

This was a preflop decision. No real reads, I elected to fold. Good? Bad? I know I have AA for high and A3 for low, but I can't say I'm too thrilled with the hand. It's very possible MP could be sitting there with A2xx so one of the aces is gone and my low hand is 2nd best.

Flop: ($5.25) 99 of diamonds 88 of diamonds 66 of spades (2 players)
UTG checks, MP bets $5.25, UTG calls $5.25

I would have flopped the 2nd nut low with just an overpair of aces. If I had reraised preflop I would have been forced to get it all-in here.

Turn: ($15.75) 77 of spades (2 players)
UTG checks, MP bets $15.75UTG raises to $18.75 all in, MP calls $3

River: ($53.25) 22 of diamonds (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: $53.25

UTG shows 77 of hearts 55 of hearts AA of hearts JJ of spades (HI: a straight, Nine high; LO: 7,6,5,2,A)
MP shows 44 of diamonds KK of clubs 22 of clubs AA of diamonds (HI: a flush, Ace high; LO: 7,6,4,2,A)
MP wins $25.30
MP wins $25.30
(Rake: $2.65)

Based on the results I am happy I folded but still unsure about this one.

CO posts a big blind ($0.50)

Pre Flop: ($1.25) Hero is SB with 22 of hearts AA of hearts JJ of hearts 55 of spades
CO checks, BTN calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.25, UTG checks

For $.25 why the hell not?

Flop: ($2.00) JJ of clubs 44 of diamonds JJ of diamonds (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, CO bets $2, BTN folds, Hero calls $2, UTG folds

I check-call here. I'm still a little bit unsure how to play trips in this game. I'm probably best, but he could have J4 or 44. It's heads up to the turn.

Turn: ($6.00) AA of spades (3 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $3, Hero raises to $15, CO folds

Gin. I hit my ace and have a full house. now I'm sure to have the best hand. I check it, he bets $3, and now I raise pot. He folds. I think my hand is probably face up at this point, maybe I pushed it too hard. I wanted to protect against possible low draws like 23, 25, but probably didn't need to raise so much there.

Final Pot: $12.00
Hero wins $11.40
(Rake: $0.60)

MP: $50.00

BB: $71.90
Hero (UTG): $20.30

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is UTG with AA of clubs 44 of clubs AA of spades JJ of diamonds
Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, BTN calls $1.50, 1 fold, BB raises to $6.25, Hero raises to $20.30 all in, 1 fold, BB calls $14.05

Here I have aces again with suits and A4 low. Similar to the first hand. I raise to $1.50, BB reraises to $6.25 with a caller in between. This time I just go all-in. I think getting it in with AAxx preflop is ok. I also *should* have some fold equity, as I hadn't been doing much raising. BB calls.

Flop: ($42.35) 77 of spades 99 of diamonds JJ of hearts

Turn: ($42.35) 44 of diamonds

River: ($42.35) JJ of clubs

Final Pot: $42.35
BB shows QQ of clubs 22 of spades AA of hearts QQ of spades (HI: two pair, Queens and Jacks)
Hero shows AA of clubs 44 of clubs AA of spades JJ of diamonds (HI: a full house, Jacks full of Fours)

Hero wins $40.25
(Rake: $2.10)

Aces didn't even play, I make a full house with the J4. Fun game. I was only a 3:2 favorite though preflop. That's Omahahaha.

Nothing else real interesting during this session. Did a lot of folding. Still wound up +$15 because of that last hand.

Folding AA3x with suits preflop is just atrocious. AA with a wheel card is far more powerful than AAxx in PLO. You put as much money as possible in preflop, and you jam the flop as long as your low isn't counterfeited and it's not something like 567 monotone when you have AA4x, or KKJ and you bet and get reraised all-in. Short-handed, you should never feel bad about getting most or all of your stack in preflop with AA with a 2-3-4-5.
