Played the fin again today. Not as many people as last week but they did eventually get three full 9-handed tables going. Played from the start like a tight nit but actually got a hand this time maybe 10 hands in or so. Picked up TT UTG+2 and make it 200 with 25/50 blinds. I am called only by the small blind. Flop comes AQ8r. Yuck. He checks, I check it back. Turn 2, he checks again, I bet 250, he mulls it over and then mucks. Wonder what he could've had there? I think a Q calls me. Maybe something like 99 or 77? Or maybe a gutterball like a KJ or KT deciding whether he had the odds to continue. Anyway we pick up some chips there and it's a decent start. Blinds go up to 50/100 when they come around to me so basically go back to my starting stack after having to fold my two blinds. Few lands later I'm in the CO with AKo. Folded to the LJ who makes it 300, HJ calls, and then the button to my left also calls before I act on my hand. I inform him that I hadn't acted ye...

Played a live donkament today. This time the scene was the River Casino in Nashua, NH. They have a Sunday tournament called the $5 Fin. You can minbuy for a mere 500 pennies and receive 2000 in starting chips or buy-in for $50 and receive 20k in chips. You can guess what I did . Plan was to get there in time for the first hand (which I did) and try to accumulate some chips prior to the end of the rebuy/add-on period. Levels are 15 minutes and we start at 25/50. Table is 5 handed to start with but fills in by the end of the level. Four tables going to start the tournament. I am card dead and have to be patient. Lot of action and many limped pots which I'm surprised to see. But people aren't afraid to put in raises either. Got to see one flop with J2o in the BB when it gets limped to me. I flop bottom pair and check/fold on a pretty dry flop. I don't think that hand went to showdown. An orbit or so later I'm in the BB again and the SB puts in a raise after 3 or 4 limp...

Went to an actual casino today. I was passing through Western Massachusetts so I stopped into MGM Springfield. Games that were being offered were $1/$2 NLHE, $2/$2 PLO, and $3/$6 LHE. I put my name on the list for the $1/$2 game, hoping to draw a table of all OMCs. Did not happen, but I did get seated at a brand new table and I did strategically seat myself to the left of the old guy there who I pegged as an OMC and away we went. Table actually was pretty tough. A lot of pots got taken down preflop and there were very few limped pots. People played mostly tight but weren't shy about putting bets and raises in either. There were no loosey goosey sandwich eaters I'm afraid. I start with $100 in front of me with the plan of playing conservative/wise.
