13 hours and change until the big donkament as I begin typing this. I can't wait. I really have a good feeling about this tournament. I just feel I'm primed for a deep run. I got all of my bad play out of the way in previous tournaments, now I'm ready to just sit down, concentrate, and do what it takes (and win a few coin flips). I really don't know what to expect from my opponents though. It's going to be a mix of players, some (online) pros, some satellite winners like myself, and maybe some mid stakes players giving it a shot. Apparently there's a lot more bluffing though. It's not going to be my standard NL $25 game where I go "well, he raised on the river, he must have that flush". So it's going to be a little tougher to read the players. I'm going to have to figure out who's playing loose, who's playing tight, who's bluffing, etc without the help of a HUD. Also, WSOP started this weekend so perhaps many good players will b...

Sunday Freeament

Pretty card dead the first few orbits playing no hands when I get dealt A ♥ T ♣ on the button in the 2nd level (15/30 blinds). MP player lips for 30, I raise to 90 and SB (who has been pretty active and aggressive) reraises to 150. Folded back to me and I call with position. Flop comes Q ♦ 6 ♣ J ♠ and he checks. I take the free card. Turn 2 ♦ . He makes a feeble bet of 90 and I call. Given the action I am putting him on 99 or TT. I think he was concerned with the Q and J on the flop and checked and is now trying to pick it up cheaply. I call not only for the pot odds but I believe I may have some bluffing equity on the river. However the river is the A ♣ and I elect to just check behind and show it down just in case he was in there with AJ or AK and didn't expect to get called by tens or nines with now 3 overcards on the board. Haven't had the chance to play lately unfortunately, but a few thoughts nonetheless. UltimateBet has updated its software, and well I'm a little disappointed. A few things I would have liked to see are: 1) Stack sizes of the players when you're looking for a game and 2) Fix the stupid hand history crap. Starting with the first thing, stack sizes are very important in a no-limit game. I really only want to play in a game where most if not all the players are sitting with 100bbs or more. I still have to go into the game to see how much each player has, and it's a little time consuming. Not a huge deal since I'm getting used to it, but I think it's something that's a pretty easy addition. The hand history thing is something that really needs to be fixed. On every other major site (Stars, FT, Party), you can have your sessions recorded into poker tracker without having to open the hand history (which you can't even minimize) on each table.
