13 hours and change until the big donkament as I begin typing this. I can't wait. I really have a good feeling about this tournament. I just feel I'm primed for a deep run. I got all of my bad play out of the way in previous tournaments, now I'm ready to just sit down, concentrate, and do what it takes (and win a few coin flips). I really don't know what to expect from my opponents though. It's going to be a mix of players, some (online) pros, some satellite winners like myself, and maybe some mid stakes players giving it a shot. Apparently there's a lot more bluffing though. It's not going to be my standard NL $25 game where I go "well, he raised on the river, he must have that flush". So it's going to be a little tougher to read the players. I'm going to have to figure out who's playing loose, who's playing tight, who's bluffing, etc without the help of a HUD. Also, WSOP started this weekend so perhaps many good players will b...

A fun limit hand

So I joined PokerSavvy Plus to watch some videos because of the free 7 day trial and also because of Matusow. Some good stuff on there, haven't got to all of it but Matusow had some good videos on there. A lot of it is HORSE and limit 08, but he has a few NL videos on there. Anyway I was watching a series he was doing entited "HORSEing around" where he does a video for each of the 5 horse games. The first one I watched on limit hold'em he was playing 15/30 and cleaning up. Seemed like fun, so I gave it a try. Here's one hand. Freerolling again

So it turns out they do still have the Sunday $500 freeroll but fewer participants than in the past. Only 236 entrants tonight with 50 getting paid. Not a bad ratio at all for a free tournament. Was hovering around the starting stack for the first few levels when I get 88 in the BB. The blinds were 60/120 with a 15 ante at this juncture. Folds to the button who jams for 1090 and I call. He has 33 and hits his miracle 3 on the turn. Same old shit. Manage to get a blind steal with QJ and then an orbit later at the 75/150-20 level I’m sitting with Q ♣ J ♣ in the SB. UTG limps, button limps, and I decide to shove. Doubt I’m getting them to fold but I have a good enough hand multiway that can put me back into the tournament, so let’s gamble.
