Haven't played a single hand in months but the poker rooms reopening around here got me thinking about the game again so decided to log on and play the nightly GPP just before late-reg ended. Here's an update. Grand Poker sucks. Worse than it sucked before. The freeroll has been reduced to $100 only. Mincashed a few weeks ago but then ran into aces. Hard to get excited for that. The daily GPP has like 100 players now with 11 spots cashing. Snoozefest. Played it last night, didn't even bother with the rebuy and had about 6 big blinds left about 2 levels after the rebuy/addon period ended. I'm UTG+2 with AQo, moron UTG open limps, I shove, and it's folded back to villain who takes no time at all to call it off. His hand? K9o. Brillaint. He flops a K of course and a 9 appears on the turn to seal the deal. Good game, good effort. Sat there and folded for a good 25 minutes just to make it look lik Not really excited to play these tournaments anymore .They take too long and I sit there and fold, fold, fold and then either lose to some bullshit or survive and make it into the money for a small cash. Have not really been playing at all, played the freeroll a few times but have been knocked out early each time. Last time I played it I late reg'd, got TT in the CO first hand I'm dealt in, and raise on top of a limper. SB shoves on top, and then the limper shoves! WTF? So I think they're just screwing around so of course I call for all of my chips. Limper had AA but the SB had 99. It's a clean runout, the aces hold up, and I'm gone. In a way I felt relieved that I didn't have to sit through 2-3 hours of poker to collect 50 cents. However, with my other activities being taken away I fired up the software last night and played the nightly GPP which is basically a freeroll (as long as you have 1 GPP in your account you can get in) with 10 cent rebuys. Check this shit out. Had nothing going on last night and figured with it being x-mas eve we'd get a small turnout in the $50 nightly tournament. Ended up still being a decent turnout with 35 left when I jumped in right before end of rebuy/add-on. I did take the add-on to get effectively a 4500 starting stack.
